Windows Vista: Edition differences
here are 4 main versions of Windows Vista: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, and Ultimate. The basic breakdown looks like this:
Home Basic | Just the Vista OS plus Windows Defender and Firewall. |
Home Premium | Home Basic plus Aero, Mobility Center, Full TabletPC support, Windows Meeting space, Media Center, scheduled backup, DVD Maker, games, and High Definition Movie Maker. |
Business | Doesn't have Media Center, DVD Maker, games, or High Definition Movie maker, but it is a domain client and has other business networking features. |
Ultimate | Home Premium + Business + Dual CPUs + Remote Desktop + Bitlocker drive encryption. Includes future "Vista Ultimate Extras." Can also legally be the host OS and client OS in a virtual PC. |
For most people, Home Premium will be the best choice. For power users, Business or Ultimate will be better choices.
