Windows Vista: Edition differences

Windows Vista: Edition differences

here are 4 main versions of Windows Vista: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, and Ultimate. The basic breakdown looks like this:

Home Basic

Just the Vista OS plus Windows Defender and Firewall.

Home Premium

Home Basic plus Aero, Mobility Center, Full TabletPC support, Windows Meeting space, Media Center, scheduled backup, DVD Maker, games, and High Definition Movie Maker.

Business

Doesn't have Media Center, DVD Maker, games, or High Definition Movie maker, but it is a domain client and has other business networking features.

Ultimate

Home Premium + Business + Dual CPUs + Remote Desktop + Bitlocker drive encryption. Includes future "Vista Ultimate Extras." Can also legally be the host OS and client OS in a virtual PC.

For most people, Home Premium will be the best choice. For power users, Business or Ultimate will be better choices.
